BS 8888 is the current British Standard for Technical Product Specification and Documentation. It replaced BS 308 in 2000.

This course provides a one-day overview of the requirements of BS 8888.

The course includes a review of good practice for technical product specification, as well as covering the key concepts and requirements of BS 8888:

  • Format and presentation requirements.

  • Working with 2D and 3D data.

  • The principles of product definition

Topics such as geometrical tolerancing and surface texture requirements are covered in very general terms – specific courses are available for those who need a more detailed understanding of these topics.

Duration

1 day (available for classroom or on-line delivery).

Who is it for?

Anyone who needs to understand the principles and practices of developing engineering drawings to a professional standard, and in compliance with BS 8888.
